About
A public meeting is being held, this Wednesday, 27th May, at 7pm, at
Clackmannan Town Hall. Please attend if you wish to see the running of
the coal trains through the night completely STOPPED. The noise and
vibration problem is causing complete misery, with lack of sleep for
many along the Stirling - Alloa - Kincardine line. Everyone is
affected, families with babies, children studying for exams,
professionals, elderly and infirm, etc, are all severely suffering.
In order to stop the trains running through the night, and address noise
and vibration issues through the day, you should urgently attend this
meeting, and bring all members of your household to the meeting. There
are serious mental health and property issues which will result in legal
claims, the co-promoters are now having to sit up and take notice of the public stance on this matter.
The co-promoters have tried to provide a number of EXCUSES as to why
they should be allowed to run the trains at night, but now realise they
have a MAJOR BATTLE on their hands and URGENTLY NEED TO COMPROMISE.
There is already an admission by the promoters that there were elements in the submission that "with hindsight have been overlooked".
However, any suggestion of mitigating the noise and vibration is folly. Any tests carried out may show that certain properties don't qualify, and sleep will still be interrupted, those that may qualify for noise reduction
measures will find they will still be woken by the trains. There were
no plans to run the trains at night and the public have been misled.
Please attend urgently, check your neighbour knows of this meeting, and
has a lift in order to attend the meeting.

by agnes neeson 9 months agohi folks,
well i attended this meeting and came out with mixed feelings, although i accept the MP and MSP's are aware of our plight and anger, and being aware we are the very people who vote them into their positions i couldn't decide exactly how genuine they are being with us. At times i felt yipe they get what we are anger about and are trying to find a way of helping us. At other times i thought this is just lip service to keep us sweet.
The absence of scottish power and the haulage company told me loads, clearly they don't give a toss, they want to make huge amounts of profit and don't care if its at the cost of our quality of life.
Personally i have to state i wasn't impressed with the chairperson, he was very blinkered, we were allowed 1 question, no readdress if we felt our questions were unanswered or only partly answered. He sat smiling like a cheshire cat the whole way through the evening, personally i found him very biased, yes we didn't want a riot, but at the same time, where appropriate people should have had the opportunity to readdress.
A very important suggest was made on the evening regarding the infringement of our human rights, this is an avenue i think we probably should explore much much deeper, as it may be the only way we can have any success, after all it was made very clear at the meeting that clearly big coporations can pretty much do as they please to increase their profits if they are in any way related to the railway network and there is nothing anyone can do about it, or at least anyone in our so called government or legal system.
i will in future post some pics of where i live and the train passing by, and as suggested at the meeting i will post some video footage of the trains passing during the day and night.
regards
