Hi, everybody! I'm writing from Spain and
need some help.
I am reading a book about Stirling. It is
about some records of the Incorporation of Skinners concerns an
apprenticeship, they speak about the Skinners’ Mailing and I
quite don’t understand the relationship of Skinners with
Mailing.
Please, can anybody explain what does it
mean "The Skinners' Mailing" in Stirling? I understand the
meaning of Skinner but the word of Mailing sounds estrange to me
by the context.
The context in the book is as
follow:
“The Skinners' Mailing. An interesting
possession of the Incorporation was a piece of land known as the
Skinners' Mailing. It is situated on the north side of Upper
Craigs, opposite the junction with Burghmuir, and in shape is a
long triangle-“
I love Stirling.co.uk
Thanks a lot!
