Dear Mr I'Anson,
We are writing following recent representations to us on the
problems being faced by residents along the route of the coal
trains to Longannet Power Station and as a result of a range of
concerns highlighted at the recent public meeting in Logie Kirk
Hall. We are working together to seek a solution to many of the
problems being raised by residents along the route of the line
through Stirling.
Subsequent to that meeting we have written to Clackmannanshire
Council with copies sent to Network Rail, Transport Scotland,
Scottish Power, DB Schenker formerly (EWS), Stirling, Falkirk and
Fife Councils. The key issues we have raised relate to noise,
vibration, train speed, coal dust, rail crossings, property
damage and points that might be taken up in a petition to the
Scottish Parliament.
We wanted to update you on our follow up meeting and we will keep
you advised on responses we receive and any other relevant
information we obtain.
We hope this is helpful and if you have any other issues to raise
in this matter please let us know.
Yours sincerely,
Rt Hon Anne McGuire MP
